Hafiz (Laeeq) Ahmad, B.Comm, MBA, Certified SCMP

As a bilingual professional with over 18 years of Supply Chain management experience across various industries. I was the Director of Supply Chain for a publicly listed textile company in Lahore, Pakistan where I held the total cost ownership across the supply chain. I managed a team of 12 professionals, overseeing the forecasting, inventory management & replenishment, Material Resource Planning (MRP) & implementation and Total Quality Management (TQM) functions within the Supply Chain area, and leading the implementation of an ERP system to improve the overall efficiency of the end-to-end supply chain function. Currently working for a leading Canadian FMCG retailer where he leads purchasing, inventory replenishment, vendor management, among other functions for all of Eastern Canada within the fresh meat department.

My interest in teaching Supply Chain led me to acquire the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation from PMAC. This designation has given me recognition within my company and has developed my knowledge base within my chosen field of study. This has further enhanced the skill set and understanding of various processes that I require to fulfill long term ambitions. The part-time availability of the program along with the opportunity to learn from internationally recognized faculty has accelerated my ability towards achieving my long-term goal. I recently volunteered as a co-facilitator for a Negotiation Skills workshop for OIPMAC and hope to build on this teaching experience through acquiring similar opportunities in future. My long-term career aspiration is to obtain a PhD and teach Supply Chain with a focus on Integrated Planning, Forecasting & Replenishment (IPFR).

I have also represented my company at various local and international forums including chamber of commerce and industry, visited various countries as trade delegate to explore new business opportunities for the continuous supply of material at competitive price.  During my free time, I enjoy reading about current world affairs and am an active volunteer for the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation.
