Nicole Harriott, Certified SCMP

"I stumbled into the area of supply chain when I joined Canada Colors
and Chemicals in 2002. I quickly realized that to meet the daily
challenges and be successful I would need to obtain a professional
designation and enroll in purchasing related courses. After consultation
with others, I decided to take PMAC courses and I obtained my
Certificate in Purchasing and then joined the Ontario Institute in 2005.
Completing my professional designation was one of the best decisions
I’ve ever made. As a member of OIPMAC I’ve been able to network with
experts in the field, gain practical skills and insight into upcoming
trends. Last year I made the decision to become a member of the OIPMAC
Program Planning Council for the Greater Toronto Area and I have enjoyed
working with fellow members to put together events that have allowed us
to continue to grow and meet with supply chain colleagues. (I encourage
everyone to come out to these events!)
My association with OIPMAC has allowed me to generate new ideas and
advance in the work place, at both my previous employment and in my
current role at PowerStream Inc. It has been a privilege to meet and
share ideas with numerous individuals in the field. Whether I have been
planning a production run, negotiating with a supplier or writing a
request for proposal, the knowledge I have gained from my association
with OIPMAC has been invaluable."
