The Ontario Institute of PMAC is helping generate new research and best practices within the field of SCM.
Below you will find three research studies currently being conducted by post-secondary institutions. When the research is complete, the Ontario Institute of PMAC will make the results available to our members. If you choose to participate in a survey/study, please be assured your information will remain confidential at all times. With your help, we can generate insights and lessons that are interesting to both researchers and supply chain management practitioners.
Research Study #1 – Green Supply Chain Practices
10 Minute Survey
As a procurement/supply chain management professional, your input is valuable for the applied research project on sustainability and green supply chain practices. This research project will help Centennial College in revising its business and supply chain management curriculum to make it “greener” to meet market needs. You are invited to participate in the green supply chain survey by visiting the following website: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/gscsurvey1
It will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. It would be appreciated if you could complete the online survey questionnaire by Friday, March 18, 2011. This research study is being conducted by Prof. Ragu Nayak, Centennial College, Toronto.
Research Study #2 –Supplier Innovation
Companies needed!
The aim of this research project is to investigate ways of enhancing the innovative performance of Canadian companies, specifically those in the manufacturing industries. The researchers are interested in the way an innovative idea can propagate from one supply chain partner to another. Just like supplier involvement in new product development has proved successful for most car manufacturers, instances of those manufacturers' involvement in process innovations at their suppliers' plants have also been credited for success. Moreover, other operational innovations including new strategies for inventory recording, storage/retrieval and transportation can be transferred among supply chain members and the gains shared. We, therefore, would like to explore ways in which this could happen, factors that affect the processes of involvement, transfer, and partner selection.

Research Study #3 – Best Practices in SCM
Faculty at Michigan State University are seeking senior level supply chain management professionals to participate in a research study. Participation in the study involves an online survey that takes approximately one hour to complete. The initial feedback from a test group is that the survey, despite its length, is highly valuable.
The research project focuses on the following: How do the practices used in purchasing actually line up with the various desired outcomes of a firm (i.e., cost, responsiveness, security, resilience, sustainability, and innovation) that we all strive to attain?
If you are interested in participating please click here. Your contact information will be provided to both Dr. Steve Melnyk (melnyk@msu.edu) and Dr. John Macdonald (johnmac@msu.edu), both of whom are from Michigan State University. They will follow up with you personally.
