June 2009: The Principles-based curriculum has now been phased out across Canada.
Concurrent with January 2007 unveiling of a new and enhanced program curriculum for PMAC’s flagship professional accreditation program in SCM, PMAC began phasing out its Principles-based program curriculum that had been the mainstay of the C.P.P. accreditation framework since the 1980’s.
As of January 2007, all new candidates registering into the professional accreditation program will be enrolled – subject to program admission requirements – in the Strategic Supply Chain Management Leadership Program.
Those accreditation candidates who registered on/before December 31, 2006, and were previously enrolled under the Principles-based curriculum were strongly encouraged to complete all accreditation requirements under this Principles-based curriculum by its phase-out in June 2009.
The phase-out of the Principles-based curriculum similarly affects those working towards the Certificate in Purchasing, which is also being phased out by December 2009. In its place, a new Certificate in Supply Management was launched in January 2009 based on SCM content focused at a tactical/operational level.
